Jim Griffin (Chief Executive – Diver Consolidated Industries) has formally been elected as Chairman of the Board of FAPM. Jim holds the role of President of FAPM and Chairman of the Board. Mark De Wit (Managing Director – Futuris Automotive) has been elected to the position of Vice Chairman and Vice President.
FAPM 2012 CONFERENCE
The theme for the 2012 FAPM national conference is: ‘Australia’s Automotive Industry: Important, Strategic Valuable’. Workshops, Industry Intelligence and Networking
As announced last year, FAPM was successful in obtaining WIIN funding from Enterprise Connect to hold three initial workshops in each of the Central, Southern and Northern Regions. These workshops are designed to assist businesses improve their performance by providing them with better access to new innovations, technologies, expertise and best practice. TAA MISSION TO USA

VIC GOV’T “SUPER” MISSION TO CHINA
The Victorian Government has called for expressions of interest from companies to participate in Australia’s largest ever trade mission to China, scheduled to take place from 14-19 May 2012. This multi-sectoral trade mission of up to 250 companies will be led by senior Victorian Government and industry representatives. For more information click here.

FAPM EXPORTING SEMINARS
FAPM, in conjunction with the Victorian Government, has organised four exporting workshops which will involve opportunities in the USA, getting a foothold in the market and becoming export ready and presenting your case specifically to the US market. The showcase will allow participants to display their technologies and components to over 40 buyers from China, Malaysia, Thailand, India, USA, and Indonesia. At its recent meeting, the FAPM Board formed a membership fee subcommittee. The purpose of this committee is to review the existing method of determining membership fees. The recent Southern Region meeting featured a great line up of speakers. Craig Ondarchie MP, Victorian Member for the Northern Metropolitan Region, Evan Stents, Partner HWL Ebsworth Lawyers and Ian Porter, freelance automotive journalist. After the presentations, the speakers participated in a panel session which tackled some challenging questions from the chair, David Chuter, Southern Region President and the audience.
